About the Hunter Region Business Hub

 The Hunter Region Business Hub (The Hub) is an industry leader when it comes to digital business advice, small business start-up guidance, and general business advice. The Hub is a not-for-profit business located in the heart of the Hunter in Kurri Kurri. The Hub works closely with the Government, Industry, and our network of Business Enterprise Centres (BEC) both locally and throughout Australia. All of our advisors are accredited members of the Australasian Institute of Business and Enterprise Facilitators (MAIBEF).

Hunter Region Business Hub was built on the basis of community. It was a result of an initiative from local companies, Cessnock City Council and Maitland City Council working in partnership to improve the economic development of the local area.

Businesses can also take advantage of numerous workshops and information seminars to assist in the development of their business.

Hunter Region Business Hub also facilitates networking events and opportunities to encourage the growth and support of the business community of the Hunter. 

The Hub’s office hosts a business incubator that houses up to 28 units consisting of a mix of office space, commercial and light industrial premises. Businesses enjoy economical, easy-leasing arrangements.

Rochelle has always been tech savvy and loves using technology to make life easier. Studying a Bachelor of Information Science at the University of Newcastle majoring marketing and E-Commerce she has a strong grounding in digital technologies. Her past career roles within the Local Government and Tourism industry along with creating her own small business entirely through social media has given her a unique perspective.

Presently The Hub is supporting small businesses throughout New South Wales with the Federal Government initiative Digital Solutions Program. This program is facilitated by the Australian Small Business Advisory Services and the aim of the program is to deliver a low-cost, high-quality digital advisory service to increase the capabilities of small businesses. The program focuses on four main pillars including;

The outcomes of the program have proved to increase and enhance the digital competency of small businesses. Saving time with regular tasks by simplifying steps and engaging with platforms in a more efficient way. The current program is valid until March 2023 with eligible businesses engaging in a package that entitles them to;

  • 1 half-hour Digital Needs Analysis (DNA) discussion with an advisor
  • Production of a Working Digital Action Plan (DAP)
  • 3 one-hour 1:1 appointments with a Digital Business Advisor
  • 4 one-hour webinars
  • 1 half-hour evaluation meeting of the program with an advisor

New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS)

NEIS is a work program that was created to help people who are unemployed or underemployed establish their own businesses.

If you have dreams of starting your own business and becoming your own boss, The Hunter Region Business Hub are also a provider of the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS). The Hunter Region Business Hub offer a range of consulting options.

We offer general business advice and health checks. Business Planning and goal setting as well as cash flow analysis. The Hub also have on staff digital experts that can help you with any digital questions you face within your business including website design, digital marketing, social media, software solutions, cyber security and online privacy.
